“ORKUT” versus “ME”- Astha

We became friends in the winter holidays,
Through a special request sent by my friend।
You seemed beautiful, glittering and nice,
Welcomed me heartily, with an alluring style।
I introduced myself, frank and clear ,
But didn’t ask thee,
“Who are you dear?”
You brought smile cheer on my face,
Increased my heartbeat as if it were a raceI liked
your presence and you liked mine,
And it grew each day at quarter to nine ।

But I got scolding and comments at home ,
That poor little girl has stopped studying more,
That brought some cracks and shakes to the ship
That combined with my friends to make friendship।
Still I didn’t leave your side,
neither your sight,But lessened the frequent visits
that I paid you every night।
But that didn’t change the situation that was bad,
Made it worse and was out of my hand।

Soon I discovered the other side of the coin,
That you were addictive and I a mere child.
You had grabbed my insides and empowered my senses,
Thereafter I realized that you were a foe,
Whose illusory friendship till now I bore.

I wished to throw you aside and empty my grossed mind,
But didn’t have the will and so you remained alongside.
The realization had taken place,
the action was needed,
But for that action a bow was needed.
God sent me the bow in the form of a friend,
Who was suffering from the same,
the same ailment.

We decide at once and then it was done,
The victory in three,Small steps was won.
And bingo I had made it,
Yes I was free,
Free once again from the ten months jail.
Compare me now with a newly freed slave,
His light heart with mine,
His lifted soul with mine .
His confident airs with mine ,
And specially his gallant walk ,
As he leaves the billions of slaves behind,
Still struggling,
still fighting under the regime.
